Mod Pages and Mod Support Interface

Mod Pages and Mod Support Interface

Postby Bramamine » Mon Oct 17, 2011 10:25 pm

I've been implementing a mod control interface so that I can start outsourcing mod support/updates on the site to either the mod creator or another specified individual. I'm also going to incorporate a mod page just like pack pages currently where people can read information and instructions on the mod AND download the ZIP.

Thinking about it now, I think it would be extremely beneficial to have a more structured page that would include prebuilt modules which the mod supporter guy could just fill in with appropriate content as opposed to a giant block scattered with content like how the forums are now. After all, this site is meant to streamline the customization process and I always found the mod threads to be extremely convoluted.

Here are some examples of modules that would be on mod pages:
  • Instructions Slider - fillable with images/text/youtube, has next and prev buttons
  • Preview Slider - images/youtube of mod
  • Recipe Slider - designated by textual equation by creator, auto-generating image with GUI and current-live textures
  • Texture List - shows images, coordinates, etc. of each texture
  • Changelog

What do you guys think? Any suggestions?
