Albion

Cause good RPGs die hard!...

Salutations from sunny Greece...^^

The last 8 months or so (regrettably with a biggg hiatus inside) I've been working on a themed pack based on an old PC game called Albion. Although the pack is nowhere near complete as a project, through trial and error I have amassed a considerable amount of alternative textures for many of the blocks in the game. Usually I used to post an "alternates image" file in my pack releases, so that users could mix and match the textures that better suited their builds or preference.

But now with this awesome site, people can do that automatically! And so here it is...my Albion texture pack...C:

(both videos from outdated versions)

If you like this pack, put it as a favorite too. It is in heavy development right now, so you will see alternates added almost every day. Thanks for the support...C:

CLEAN INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
(for windows)
1. Drop the Albion texture pack zip inside the texture packs folder in your minecraft bin area.
2. Download the latest Optifine or MC patcher variant and patch the game.
3. Run the MC client.
4. Go to mods/texture packs, and select the Albion pack from the list. Click done.
5. You are good to go...^^

Before you begin customizing, have in mind that there are 2 default variants (one light and one dark) ready for downloading. Namely:

Kantos Albion
Bright and ornate, this suits creative players more

Download Kantos Albion, V2.48

Kenget Albion
Dark and sinister, this suits survival players more

Download Kenget Albion, V2.48

Some alternates and art

Of course, a lot remains to be done. As a stopgap, I picked-edited some textures from other awesome packs (with full permission of course) until I replace them with my versions, all credit goes to original creators for them:

Misa's realistic
eldpack (for armor ingame)
Hozz' 32x32 item mix (attempt to match Doku textures)
Runesmith texture sprites
Doku's Dokucraft

More Paintings: See the paintings this texture pack has? Want to use all of them, not just those that the game has as default? Go here then, I know you want to...XD
Optifine Patches the game, introduces mipmapping and gives a lot of buttons to push so that you make your game as streamlined as possible.
Rei's minimap A great minimap mod, that is also beautiful to watch for a change...=D
Water Shader (alpha v3): If you want your water to look like this, then go for it. Huge immersion bonus to the game, low calories...:RFlower:

V2.40
Two different pack variations, using a number of alternates from previous updates, as well as new textures. in total, about 110 textures were edited or made for this update, from gui to title splashes and from terrain to obscure gradients.
Basic 1.8 support, most of the textures are done. For categories that I have not tackled yet, some placeholders were used (credits as always, on the OP). I have not retextured the mushrooms yet, since they do not function properly in game. Have in mind that these are some starter impressions of what I want to achieve, further editing and - most importantly - game testing will provide more alternates and base textures in the future. Plz report any bugs or odd things you find, so I can work on them ASAP...^^
Added support for the Betterblocks mod.
New water and lava animations, props to Grugsy for the help...^^

This project was/is/will always be an open one, so anyone wishing to share, mix or otherwise use part of its contents in his own derivative, custom or original projects is free to do so, without requiring explicit permission (that means, permission is granted de facto and a priori). The only restricting and absolute prerequisite for the above, is that you do not use content from this pack for monetizing purposes (donations, ad-links etc).
Have in mind that some of the placeholders used in this pack are not mine, so if you decide to use them in your projects it will be prudent to seek permission from the original creators.
If do use content from this pack, please add a notification in your thread linking back to this one if you can.

Remember guys 'n' gals, all ppl that wish to give back to the community via their personal work in modding have also the obligation to BOTH safeguard the community against fraud or illicit trade actions, and help the modding community thrive in itself.
